Here we have a 1990s coupe from the M stable at BMW. It is a 1998 BMW M3. Keen observers will notice differences in the cosmetics between this and other E36 body-style coupes, much like with other body styles from BMWs. However, the differences are not nearly as pronounced as the powertrains. This ’98 M3 boasts the vaunted S52 engine. It is an inline-six with 240 horsepower.

While the E46 body first appeared in 1999, it came in four-door form only. The E46 two-doors came in 2000. So, as done with other 3-series generations, the last year of the E36 coupe body style was 1999. As BMW aficionados will tell you, the M3 predecessor to the E36, the E30 M3, has exploded in value in recent years – this despite being powered by a four-banger. With this, there are many who believe the E36 could skyrocket in value in the near future.
The car at hand is silver in colour. Interior is black and its sport leather seats go by the slang “Vader seats”. Their shape reminds many of a character in a certain moving picture series and it is a commonly enough held belief that name has stuck.
The mileage on this featured external listing checks in a5 116,500 km. Not a new car or show worthy, necessarily, this is definitely low mileage for a “driver”. The leather seats look to be in very good condition with the accent striping given M-series cars by the BMW factory.
Exterior appointments on the M include fog lights, side skirts and five-spoke alloy wheels. We peg the clear indicator lenses up front as aftermarket. Front and rear spoilers complete the sporty M look.
