The powertrain on this CLS is different. This car has a 5.5L V8 with a supercharger. It produces 469 HP and sends the power to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic. It can get from 0-60 in a mere 4.7 seconds and will keep going until it hits its governed top speed of 155 miles per hour. (The ad suggests 4.4 seconds… we’d have to see it!) The car we are running, being a few years newer, is a normally aspirated V8 displacing 6.2 litres and chugging out a whopping 507 ponies. Its paddle-shift controlled automatic is a seven-speed. While bigger on the top end, it matches the 0-60 time of 4.7. It also has its top speed limited by a governor at 155 mph. We do appreciate engine bay photos, not presented on today’s featured external listing.
On the outside, things look pretty similar. Both look elegant in a black finish. Both are rolling on nineteen-inch five-spoke Mercedes wheels. Inside, seller describes his interior as burl walnut on the 2006. The car for auction on CCC has a matching black interior. One other item is that the CCC seller made sure his car was clean for picture day!
Another couple of critical quantitative measures are the year. Today’s listing is an ’06, accounting for the smaller displacement, lighter horsepower engine with 93,000 km. The CCC auction item is a 2009, with under 82,000 km with the big dog – the 6.2 litre powerplant with 507 horsepower.

Would be interesting to see if the Halifax car history through Carfax is cleaner than the one on auction? It makes a big difference when setting a value comparison.
