In connection with our membership in and advertising relationship with Porsche Club of America Upper Canada Region (PCA-UCR), we were treated to a social event put on by the club and held at a Porsche dealership. For a small admission fee, we were also treated to a light but scrumptious dinner – compliments of a highly recommended caterer, check its branded truck below. We were promised attendance by a couple of VIPs, which turned out to be a gag as the VIPs were very impressive Porsches. No joke there – conspicuously displayed in the showroom were a Porsche 959 and a Porsche 918 Spyder. We will not try to describe these two cars here – there are not enough superlatives and your web searches will do the two more justice. We will say that we love both and they have been impeccably kept – the 959 being approximately 35 years old.

When the 959 was released, I seem to recall it was mentioned that there was going to be one at a Porsche dealership downtown in the showroom. Fairly late on a Saturday night as I was driving home with my wife and 8 year old son I realized we were passing that dealership. I pulled in and we peered through the window at a silver 959.
