MGs at the convention home base hotel
2022 06 24 posting – MG2022 Car Show, Peterborough, On, June 22, 2022
In connection with our advertising relationship in the quarterly magazine of the MG Car Club of Toronto , “The Octagon” – members and keen CCC followers will remember our talk at a club meeting back on May 3 – we were invited to the last day of MG2022, MG North America’s Annual Convention. Of course, with the events of the last 2+ years, more people were interested in making the trip so we met locals as well as people as far away as Calgary and Ormond Beach, Florida, for example – and some of these faraway attendees drove their cars to Peterborough – that is the car hobby spirit that we love, and possess in our own right. Somehow, we missed getting a snap of the CCC table but we wandered and captured some of the variety on display. There was also a class for non-MG British Marques and one of our sellers will love the TVR we found. We also included the Miata we saw – owned by someone who owned several MGs – which was wryly described on 1990 release by one of the major car mags as “the MG that won’t leave any oil on your driveway” – MG owners will have heard lines like these, yet MGs are still their favourite collector cars. These machines have a loyal following! We had a great time chatting with the attendees and checking out the cars. We hope you like the ones we have selected. Thank you, MGCCT!

@vintageracer – we knew we couldn’t slide anything by you. That Magnette is pretty, indeed, and owned by the man who handles CCC advertising in the club’s quarterly magazine.
I see it! The Jaguar XJ-6 sedan.
The gray TD is lovely, but this time I’m drawn to the 1957 Magnette. It is a “family car”.. yes that’s the ticket… it’s a “family car”. That makes it completely justifiable to any doubting spouse. Trust me.
