1955 Buick Special

Today, we return to photos we captured on a visit to the Canadian Automotive Museum in Oshawa, On earlier in the season.  If you have a chance to visit, we highly recommend it – so many cars to see, so much Canadian auto history to absorb.  A couple of fun items to share:  we chose the 1955 Buick for the photo above after the 1957 Buick Super we auctioned sold on the CCC Back Lot over the long weekend.  And a Cambridge-resident friend of the site was eager to have us show off the 1914 Galt Gas Electric, below – a hybrid from over 100 years ago – do check out its turn signals in the gallery lower on the page.  It is early evidence of an automotive tradition in the area (today, Galt is part of Cambridge).  In more modern times, the Toyota plant in town recently produced a Lexus NX 350h – also a hybrid – as its 10 millionth vehicle.
