Here is a 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2LT with low mileage up for grabs in the west.  The Corvette C8 was released for the 2020 model year, the first year of Corvette being model year 1953.  While the first seven generations of Corvette were “FR” layout (front-engine, rear-drive), the C8 marked a great departure with a midship engine – making it distinct from each featured in our past blog post, Some of Our Favourite Corvettes.  Another distinguishing feature is that all C8s come with two pedals – a conventional manual transmission is not offered.  The launch of the car was a great success – demand outstripped supply for a couple of years, leading to dealer mark-ups.  That is mostly in the rear-view, though the release of the Z06 version for model year 2023 has seen its return, if only for this package.

The car at hand is finished in a Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat shade.  Like all C8s, it shows considerable black trim on its body; this one comes with broad black twin stripes lengthwise through the centre of the car.  It also comes with T-tops, distinct from the convertible which is ingenious enough to not seem like a convertible with the top up.  Black dual spoke wheels and raised rear spoiler continue the contrasting black theme.  The in-service date of the car is not mentioned in the ad but this is worth investigating.  The included maintenance period has expired but there are warranties covering various systems which begin to expire after 36 months (or 60,000 km – likely not a consideration on this low-mileage example).

The 2LT trim is long on features and the options added up when this car was new.  There really are not material features one would expect on a six-figure car not in place on this machine.  The 2LT’s main adds over the 1LT are heated seats/steering wheel, navigation, power folding exterior mirrors, theft deterrent and alert systems on the exterior of the car.  Add the white leather – not for everyone, though quite pretty – full power, heads-up display, plus speed sensitive steering and the cabin is a great place to be.

We will forgive you if you look up front for a Corvette engine but you need to look behind the cabin.  There you find a 6.2 litre V8 pushing out 490 horsepower at 6450 RPM.  The power gets sent to the rear wheels only and is complemented by the 465 lb.-ft. of torque (5150 RPM).  Pushing the power to the rubber is an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic.  There are shifter paddles to enable some driver engagement but, again, no manual available in the C8.  And for good reason on the engineering front – today’s automatics shift more quickly than any enthusiast can.  The powerplant has piloted the car a mere 3,700 km since new and the ad sets out indoor storage.
