The first Canadian Cars n’ Coffee in November?
We have enjoyed a mostly beautiful autumn and despite CollectorCarCanada.CA’s original intention for its monthly Cars n’ Coffee events to wrap with October’s iteration, the company’s management monitored the weather and decided to risk it with a first time-ever November affair. The risk/reward relationship turned out to be direct as we were blessed with a beautiful day – we knew it would be sunny and clear, but the forecast called for a high temperature of 7°C… and we were starting at 9:00 am (plus – “some” fastidious Porsche owners are known for being early). Let’s just say when the empty coffee carafes were returned to Starbucks, the exterior temperature reading in a certain 928S4 read 15.5°C. Wow! (And, yes, we had to make use of overflow parking.)
We put the word out to a few clubs and by the looks of the photos, PCA UCR has a good Communications department. Part of what we like about these events is how the owners of distinct cars mix – import and domestic, old and new, coupes and convertibles, wagons and SUVs. To quote the American PCA club: “it’s not just the cars, it’s the people”.
The Starbucks coffee was hot and CCC had poppies for attendees given the event was held two days prior to Remembrance Day. We won’t promise that this is the end of our Cars n’ Coffee schedule, but I am going to play it safe by installing my winter tires tomorrow. Watch the weather forecast, watch the CCC web site, watch the club e-blasts – who knows!
