2025 – A Look Back
Happy 2026. It’s time for a look back at 2025. What a year we had! What a great time we had!
It was another record-breaking year as we set new corporate marks for units and number of six-figure cars sold. We sold a C1 Corvette for the first time and an air-cooled 911 Turbo for the first time, both busted the $100K mark. In addition to normal collection of Mustangs we always appreciate – all V8s this year, interestingly: First Gen., SN95, S197; Shelby, GT, California Special, Mach 1 – we enjoyed the distinction of selling four different generations of Corvette in our first year of sponsorship of the Corvette Club of Ontario. Other clubs we either sponsor or advertise with: Porsche Club of America Upper Canada Region, Mercedes-Benz Club Canada, MG Car Club of Toronto, Toronto Triumph Club.
Those familiar with our soft-close auction system might be interested in us having broken our previous record for “Overtime” at the end of an auction, when a 1972 Datsun 240Z went from a high bid under reserve at the would-be auction expiry to smashing the reserve. The latter also happened with a sub-26K km final year third-generation Z28, a great find. Other interesting results were seen when our last-chance system paid off in sales – the reserve was a ways off the top bids at the close of the clock and then the last chance bidding began, assuring a sale of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SL550 AMG Roadster and 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Spyder Convertible 4-Speed Manual, Restored, Inspected.
It was a smashing end to the year with a Ferrari joining the 930 as a sale in December, one off our month with the most unit sales, and contributing to Q4 being our most robust in terms of sales. This contradicts common current thought of economic slowdown and proves that good cars well presented will find a new owner on the hunt. It also reflects our business hypothesis that cars in Canada do best in the Canadian market – this was amplified in the current “trade war” environment. Sales continue into our off-peak season, click here to see current auctions and here for Buy-It-Now offerings.
Beyond selling cars, we stayed true to our enthusiast roots by hosting, exhibiting at, and attending countless shows, we share some of these in the What We’ve Seen section of the website. We also continued our Collector Car Stories podcast, shown on this same page as our Car Reviews podcast. We had a long-form car review video for every single car we listed on the website, each of the cars appearing on our Car Reviews podcast has its own long-form video clip on its auction page – just click any item photo on this page and see. If you have an interesting car, collection or car story, maybe you could be featured in our Collector Car Stories podcast – let us know here!
We have a few surprises in store for 2026, stay tuned. And if you aren’t on our email update list, you can join it here. Thank you to all buyers and sellers in 2025.
