**Now SOLD** 22 Years Owned 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster 4-Speed Manual

Overview

Here is a 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster, finished in white over a tan interior. This two-seat convertible is powered by an inline-six-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, with power sent to the rear wheels. The odometer reads under 93,000 miles, believed original by the seller. The seller has owned the car since 2003 and includes in the sale two keys, the owner’s manual, service history, removed original black bumperettes, a tonneau cover for use with the original seats, and of the original seats still in fine condition, as well as other replaced parts. Ontario buyers, please note: this TR6 will be sold with an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate.
The exterior is finished in its original white, with the seller reporting that the car has not been repainted. The body has minimal flaws as shown in the gallery, and features chrome front and rear bumpers – backdated to exclude bumperettes for a more streamlined look, round headlamps and chrome, bullet-shaped mirrors mounted on each door. “TR6” badging is seen on the grille and incorporated into twin, stylized Union Jacks in the rear quarters. A centre-mounted chrome fuel filler cap appears conspicuously above the rear deck. The black convertible top is shown in the gallery and was replaced by the current owner; the original top can be included should the new owner want it.
This TR6 rides on silver-finished factory steel wheels with polished trim rings and TR6-branded centre caps in red, as shown in the gallery. The wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Momentum all-season tires sized P195/65R15 89T, seller notes an installation date in 2009, approximately 29,000 miles back. The braking system consists of front disc brakes and rear drums. The seller reports that he replaced the springs.
The interior features replacement tan vinyl bucket seats with tan cloth houndstooth-pattered inserts and embroidered “TR6” logos on the backrests. The seats are aftermarket units sourced from a Mazda Miata and include functional integrated headrest-mounted speakers, as seen in the gallery. Additional equipment includes black door caps with padded armrests, tan door cards, and tan carpeting. Snap button receivers appear on the door tops for use with the included tonneau cover and original seats.
The condition of the original woodgrain dash fascia is illustrated in our gallery and houses analog instrumentation, including a 140 mph speedometer with trip meter and odometer showing under 93,000 miles, a 7000 RPM tachometer with 5800 RPM redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. Warning lights for “Brake” and “Fasten Belts” are located beneath the auxiliary gauges. A black Triumph-branded three-spoke steering wheel fronts the SMITHS instrumentation, and a centre-mounted gear selector for the four-speed is mounted in the console. A Pioneer audio system was installed in 2004, including a DEH-P4300MP AM/FM/CD/MP3 head unit, paired with matching speakers mounted on the side surfaces of the centre stack. Controls for heat, ventilation, defrost, and airflow are mounted in the lower dash panel, along with a manual choke lever. A remote control for the head unit is also included as is a carrying case for its removable faceplate.
This vehicle’s powerplant is a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre inline-six-cylinder engine, factory-rated at 106 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine features twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors previously utiliing a cartridge-style oil filter, converted to a spin-on type under the seller’s ownership. Additional mechanical work reported includes a carburetor rebuild, a new muffler, and a repaired fuel gauge. The tidy engine bay is shown in the gallery, its Stromberg carburetors and inline-six layout prominent.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The TR6 features an independent front suspension with unequal-length wishbones, coil springs, and telescopic dampers, while the rear uses a semi-trailing arm independent setup with coil springs and lever-arm shocks. Suspension work under current ownership includes replacement springs.
This 1974 Triumph TR6 Roadster 4-Speed Manual with under 93,000 miles is offered with two keys, original seats, a tan parade boot, tonneau cover fitting over the original seats, a fitted car cover, the original black bumperettes, a roadside tool kit with spares, and supporting service documentation, as well as a valid Ontario Safety Standards Certificate in Orangeville, Ontario.
