No Reserve Sub-80K km 2011 BMW 328i xDrive
This 2011 BMW 328i E90 xDrive is available at No Reserve from the estate of the second owner, who purchased the car in 2015. It is a low mileage example with a nice colour combination, service history on hand and a clean Carfax (included in the photo gallery). It starts easily and the 3.0L inline six purrs very smoothly, please have a look at the driving videos.
It is a stock example of the end of the sublime six cylinder normally-aspirated engines BMW produced for its 3-series cars. It is equipped with BMW’s proprietary all wheel drive xDrive and dynamic traction control (DTC) system for sure handling and traction. Again, it is a No Reserve auction so this car is going to the highest bidder Wednesday the 21st, no matter how high or how low that top bid is.
The Deep Sea Blue Metallic finish (BMW paint code A76) continues to look brilliant in the sunshine, the owner kept this car garaged. Shadowline trim subtly announces this car’s modest yet appealing presence, the Xenon headlights with the familiar BMW angel-eye look bookend the traditional two-kidney grille of the marque. Wheels are multi-spoke, BMW style 284 and 17 inches, wrapped in factory size spec Continental ContiProContact 225/45 tires with safe tread remaining. The rims on the right side of this 328i’s do show minor curb marks; as well, there is light scratching on the rear bumper (please see photo gallery). Among this E90’s features are a headlight washer system, fog lights and rain sensor wipers. Glass is without fault and shows the BMW and Pilkington insignia, save for the rear. Twin chromed exhaust tips are a further hint of this car’s sporting side, away from its perhaps seemingly buttoned-down appearance.
Interior is a contrasting beige leatherette with black dashboard top and gloss, up above is a generous powered glass roof with sliding interior cover. The car is well-equipped: dual-zone climate control with rear seat adjustments, whose a/c blows cold; heated seats, USB as well as auxiliary inputs, arm rests front and rear; fold down 60/40 rear seats which can be released from cabin or trunk and offer a ski pass-through; and BMW Professional AM/FM/CD stereo with Hi Fi speakers contribute to comfort and convenience. The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts push-button start as well as 260 km/h speedometer and 7500 RPM tach; it is tilt and telescopic, also providing phone and audio controls. Power windows are one-touch and are operable with the key fob. Power mirrors are heated, the right side can be set to dip when reverse is engaged to keep away from pesky curbs. Carpets are clean and protected by the included genuine BMW all-weather mats. Seat adjustments are powered and offer memory function; all five seats offer headrests. Driver’s seat has an approximate 3-inch mark, retractable cup holders emerge from the dash.
The 24-valve 3.0L inline six N52K has the reputation of providing silky smooth cruising with power to back it up when desired. It was rated 230 HP from the factory at 6500 RPM, with variable valve timing and double overhead cam. Maximum torque rating was 200 lb.-ft. and is accessible at a low 2750 RPM. Getting the power to the four wheels via BMW’s variable xDrive all-wheel drive system is a six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic. The four-wheel independent suspension is taut, with MacPherson struts up front as well as stabilizer bars, front and rear. For a sedan, this E90 does a nice job of cheating the wind and achieves a drag coefficient of 0.30 and it can provide 25 MPG on the highway.
The underside of the car is clean and does exhibit some surface rust commensurate with a 2011 model year example. Recent service includes front brakes under 10,000 km ago, a battery in 2019 and an alignment. On the most recent visit to this trusted mechanic’s shop, the mechanic suggested that the rear brakes would be next but that this is not an immediate need. Thus, the owner expects this car to pass Ontario safety as it currently sits. The 2017 blow-by heater recall item was addressed by Budds BMW (Oakville, On) in 2018.
