No Reserve 1971 Land Rover 109 Series IIA 4WD **SOLD by CCC AUCTION**
This 1971 Land Rover 109 Series IIA is finished in Green over a beige-carpeted interior and is offered with its long wheelbase at NO RESERVE. The unmodified utility vehicle retains factory Land Rover badging and its finish has been altered with a brush-applied green repaint to produce a distressed, patina look. Features include a removable hardtop with sliding side windows, dual side mirrors with chrome caps, and 16-inch white-painted steel wheels wrapped in Traction King Plus 235/85R16 tires. A side-hinged rear door and stock exterior lighting are in place, and the truck remains equipped with its factory drip rails, displaying minimalist style.
Inside this long wheelbase model, the owner has added homemade labels to supplement switchgear and has lined the inner walls and crafted a headliner with beige household carpet for soundproofing; some of which has come unglued. Seating consists of aftermarket cloth-upholstered front buckets with recline function and black vinyl inward facing side-mounted benches in the rear. The black three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 6,000-RPM tachometer (7,000-RPM max) and a speedometer maxing out at 70 MPH, with the integrated five-digit odometer indicating under 85,000 miles. Roof-mounted windshield-wiper controls, auxiliary gauges and rear roof-mounted speakers are also included in the vehicle’s interior.
Power comes from a 2.3-litre gasoline inline-four (engine no. 307003344) paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, getting power to the rear or all four wheels, depending on how the dual range transfer case with locking hubs is set. The vehicle’s long-stored condition and lack of battery imply that mechanical status is unknown; buyers should plan for inspection and recommissioning before road use. The book of records includes photos of the vehicle when purchased from the previous owner, a sign of seller’s excitement at time of purchase. Other records include literature, seller notes, correspondence to various parts suppliers.
This 1971 Land Rover 109 Series IIA is offered with an owner’s manual, two keys, a book of records and a spare tire by the seller in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Important Notes: The owner has engaged the seller to oversee the sale of various items including a car collection during a downsizing.
