1975 Triumph TR6 Roadster 4-Speed Manual with Overdrive, Inspected SOLD for $18,000
Here is a 1975 Triumph TR6 Roadster 4-Speed Manual with Overdrive, Inspected refinished under prior ownership in its original French blue over a black interior. The seller commissioned our third-party contracted inspection service to give buyers peace of mind – do review the inspector’s report, complete with photos, including items he perceived as imperfections; see it at the base of CCC Vital Info. The owner has had the car four seasons and has enjoyed it to the tune of approximately 10,000 miles during his custodianship. Supplying the power is the stock 2.5 litre inline six, factory rated at 104 horsepower and delivering the power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive equipped at the factory. The car boasts a dual-exit exhaust, a subtle front spoiler, black convertible top, new-in-box Robbins tonneau cover and 15” stock steel wheels with chromed beauty rings and TR6 centres. Bumper overriders have been removed for a sleeker, more traditional look.
The shade of the exterior is French blue (Triumph code 126), owner relays that this is a refinish from prior ownership, in the original colour. The exterior features the familiar Union Jack TR6 emblems on the rear quarter panels, dual chromed mirrors, TR6 emblem in the grille, an air dam and black convertible top. There are detailed photos of the mostly good convertible top, three tears are shown; one occurred on photo day so please inspect comprehensively.
Silver-coloured stock steel wheels are accented by chrome trim rings and TR6 centres. They are lined in Infinity INF-040 tires sized 205/65R15, with H speed rating and 2008 date code. Underneath is a pair of disc brakes up front and a pair of drums in the rear.
The two bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl in the original TR6 pattern (Triumph code 11). While the car is equipped with an antenna, the radio area in the cabin has a blank panel covering it. Carpets are believed original, given their cut to spec and are pulled back to see the floor underneath in our gallery.
A three-spoke Triumph-branded steering wheel fronts SMITHS instrumentation, highlighted by a 140 MPH speedometer and a 7000 RPM tachometer with 5800 RPM redline. Metric readings in km/h are included on the speedometer with indicator lights for high beams, turn indicators, oil warning and ignition split between the two. At the base of the speedometer, the odometer shows under 68,000 miles – believed original but not corroborated; there is a separate trip odometer. In the centre of the wooden dash fascia, there are supplementary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and voltage. Below are controls for heat/ventilation/defrost and choke. The surface above the choke control shows a tear, though the dash cover itself is free of cuts or cracking. The four-speed shift lever shows a wooden knob and leather boot.
The 2.5 litre inline six was factory rated at 104 horsepower, supplemented by a torque figure of 128 lb.-ft. Feeding the 2.5 are a pair of Zenith Stomberg carburetors. Recent servicing during the ownership tenure of the seller includes fuel pump, spark plugs, carburetion, timing, wheel bearings, U-Joints and wiring. Service records appear in the gallery. The car comes with a hard cover combined driver’s handbook and service manual by Bentley Publishers. Also offered on our listing is a third-party inspector’s report, please refer to it in “CCC Vital Info”. The inspector likes the car, adding to the owner’s belief that the car will pass Ontario safety as it sits today.
