1990 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 5-Speed Manual, T-Tops SOLD for $6,500

Here is a 1990 Nissan 300ZX 2+2 5-Speed Manual Hatchback, finished in its original Aztec Red over a charcoal with contrasting red microfibre interior. Power comes from the original naturally aspirated 3.0-litre, 24-valve twin cam V6 factory rated at 222 horsepower, paired with a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The car includes two keys, T-Tops with dedicated covers, spare hatchback stays, a Nissan touch-up paint pen, the original owner’s manual, and a clean Carfax report.

The exterior is finished in its factory Aztec Red, confirmed as the original colour from the data plate under the hood, photographed in our gallery. The Z32 300ZX was released for the 1990 model year and this is one of the first, as evidenced by its April 1989 assembly date and its VIN ending in 000124, both on the door jamb data decal appearing in our gallery. This example features an aftermarket front bumper cover with aggressive spoiler as well as removable glass T-top roof panels accompanied by dedicated vinyl storage cases photographed with the hatchback.

Additional details include upgraded HID headlamp bulbs, colour-coded mirror caps on driver’s and passenger’s side, a rear window wiper, and tinted windows. Nissan badging is present, including manufacturer emblems at the nose and rear hatch along with “300ZX” badging on the tail panel. Indicator lenses are clear while the bulbs underneath are amber for compliance with safety regulations; a rear marker light also has a clear lens, while all windows are marked NISSAN. This 300ZX rides on factory five-spoke 16” alloy wheels finished in silver colour, wrapped in staggered-width Firestone tires. The rear tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 measuring 225/50, W-rated and were installed new in October 2025, while the front Firestone F140s remain from the previous ownership at 215/55; tread depth and condition can be viewed in the gallery. Braking is by four-wheel discs with white-painted calipers matching the accents under hood. The suspension benefits from an ISR Performance front upper camber arm upgrade, as confirmed by previous owner order sheets supplied by the seller. The cabin is trimmed in charcoal with front bucket seats which were changed to cloth and rear 2+2 seating. A previous owner had red microfibre complementing the exterior fitted throughout the cabin to provide contrast and pop. This can be seen on the door cards, dash fascia, pillars, shifter boot and emergency brake boot. Other interior features include a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 260 km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 9000 RPM tachometer and 6500 RPM red line, as well as other gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer reads under 226,000 km, complemented by a trip odometer. Equipment includes cruise control with steering-wheel-mounted controls, an upgraded Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth capability (Pioneer model MVH 291BT), and NISMO (Nissan Motorsport)-branded floor mats. Previous owner had an aftermarket steering wheel and the OEM unit currently installed is cosmetically distressed and not operating the associated functions. The seller is including a second, uninstalled OEM unit to address. Under the Bose speaker on the centre stack is an aftermarket 300ZX emblem, the original digital clock that was originally in place is included with the car.

This vehicle’s powerplant is a naturally aspirated 3.0-litre VG30DE V6, rated from the factory at 222 horsepower and 198 lb-ft of torque. The engine is fed through electronic fuel injection. Photos show a clean engine bay with both performance and cosmetic upgrades. The seller has provided previous owner’s order sheets for recent parts installations, including OEM seals and gaskets, a rear main seal, a retainer gasket, and replacement battery harness cables. An aftermarket performance AMS radiator is fitted with shroudless accompanying fan, as is a transparent belt cover. In addition, a return to original style exhaust system has been installed under current ownership, two Bosal mufflers – each with twin exits. Another nice feature under hood is the Optima Yellowtop AGM battery, date coded 2023.

The drivetrain features a five-speed manual transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. A Megan Racing short shifter has been fitted. Recent maintenance performed during current ownership includes replacement of seals and installation of a rear main seal. The seller points out that under previous ownership, the car had an aftermarket spoiler installed which has left cutouts in the rear bumper cover.
