Here is a sub-10K mile 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Coupe 5-Speed Manual that was originally delivered by a Washington state Ford dealer after being built in Dearborn, Michigan January 26, 1996. The SVT Cobra featured Cobra-logo fender badges and revised front and rear bumper covers to distinguish its appearance from the period Mustang GT. Cast-aluminum 17″ five-spoke wheels come 245/45 Goodyear Eagle GT tires , W-rated with 2011 date codes and installed in 2012, when the odometer read 8,000 miles – 1″ rear spacers have been installed. The suspension is modified with Koni dampers, H&R Super Sport springs, and Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates. Brakes are in the form of four-wheel antilock discs. Front calipers are Cobra-branded.

On the inside, front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench are upholstered in Saddle leather. There are a colour-coordinated dashboard, door cards and carpets in place. Interior amenities include cruise control, an MGW shifter, dual front airbags, a stock CD/cassette stereo, a Mach 460 sound system as well as air conditioning.

The leather-wrapped Cobra-branded steering wheel appears fore of black-on-white instrumentation: a 160-MPH speedometer and an 8,000 RPM tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline are front and centre. These are flanked by gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows under 10,000 miles, approximately 650 of which have been driven by the current owner.

The SVT’s power plant is a 4.6-litre V8 equipped with electronic fuel injection – it was factory-rated at 305 horsepower (5800 RPM) and 300 lb-ft of torque (4800 RPM). A BBK off-road H-pipe is in place and the catalytic converter has been removed. Service in March 2023 included an oil change and coolant service as well as replacing the fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter.

This is a rear-drive vehicle and the power gets to the wheels via a Borg-WarnerT45 five-speed manual. It is supported by a Traction-Lok limited slip differential. Owner states that in his ownership, a Steeda adjustable clutch quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster have been installed.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Parr Ford of Bremerton, Washington, and lists factory colors, equipment, options, and a total price of US$26,670. A Ford SVT certificate, manufacturer’s literature, and service records are also included in the sale.
