Here is a 2010 Ford Mustang GT convertible whose 10-year custodian is its second owner, having purchased it with under 6,000 km on the clock. It currently shows under 45,000 km and has been well cared for, as set out in the service records we include in the gallery. This low-km GT is finished in Red Candy Pearl Metallic over Stone leather and its powerplant is a 4.6 litre V8 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with upgraded 19” alloy wheels, a Shaker 500 audio system, cruise control, air conditioning that blows cold and a Stone-coloured power-operated convertible top. It comes with the service records, factory documentation including owner’s manual, clean Carfax and, Ontario buyers please note, an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate.
The car wears its original finish in Red Candy Pearl Metallic (Ford Code U6). The car is equipped with a contrasting power top in a Stone shade matching the interior. The exterior is dressed up with custom wheels wearing tires in the stock size, factory rear spoiler, factory fog lamps incorporated into the grille (a tribute look to the 1969 Mustangs), bolt-on bike rack hookup and an aftermarket dual exhaust by Flowmaster with polished exits on either side. Light blemishes in the finish are photographed in the gallery with a coin for perspective. The bike rack hookup is not of a size compatible with a trailer tow hitch.
The 19-inch alloy wheels wear General G-MAX tires with a W-speed rating. They were installed in 2014 and have rolled approximately 30,000 km. A service record for the tire purchase and installation is included (along with many other service records) in our gallery. Traction control is on offer, an under-hood stabilizer bar was installed at the factory, same for the rear stabilizer bars visible in our photos of the clean underside. For braking, there are discs at all four corners, controlled by an ABS system. The front driver’s side wheel shows some minor scratches, the rear driver’s side wheel shows one, all displayed in our gallery.
In the cabin, the seats are trimmed in leather coloured in Stone (Ford code 4U). Other amenities inside include the Shaker audio with AM/FM/CD as well as heated power-adjustable bucket seats for driver and passenger. Both keys come with keyless entry function, a/c blows cold and there is a power group beyond the seats (windows, locks, mirrors) as well as cruise control.
Cruise control is operated by buttons mounted on the three-spoke steering wheel, where phone and other head unit functions can be controlled. It fronts two round gauges with design and fonts a nod to first generation Mustangs. The speedometer maxes out at 240 km/h while the 8000 RPM tachometer shows a 6500 RPM redline. The digital odometer reads under 45,000 km, this can be seen in our start-up video.
Coming out of the factory, the 4.6 litre V8 was rated at 315 horsepower. The engine features three valves per cylinder and was built to a spec of 320 lb.-ft. of torque. This power may be supplemented by the Flowmaster exhaust – a Dyno test has not been done – but the engine’s sound is ameliorated by the exhaust, audible in our driving and idling videos. The 5-Speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
