Mileage on the normally aspirated 3.0L V6 EFI engine is a very low 11,200 km.  Seller notes that he can not corroborate the mileage claim but that the condition of the car backs it up.  The photos show the car wearing a cover, which is a good sign but doesn’t really prove anything.  Perhaps only the experienced need apply.  While the 300ZX was also offered as a Turbo, this car is not turbocharged.

Grey paint shows well in the photos, such as they are, and the stock wheels look to be in nice condition.  Photos are not as detailed as we are encouraging our sellers to show.  Great photos and lots of them can really inspire bidder confidence.  Photo subjects in this ad are less than ideally lit and linearly challenged, another reason we are looking forward to filling out our roster of serious automotive photographers:  great photos bring the money.  (If you know someone, please share the section of our main page where there is a form for good photographers to submit.)  We are hoping that CCC sellers will submit at least 100 photos – and if they want to submit 400, they will not get an argument from us.

Body style is a 2+2 hatchback.  So, there is a backseat, but it is really only meant for small children, adults only in emergency!  With the rear seats folded down, however, the hatch will really swallow up the cargo for a weekend roadie.

Interior features include the aforementioned automatic transmission.  This unit is a four-speed with overdrive produced by Jatco.  Cruise control and air conditioning are also mentioned in the ad, though there is nothing about the functionality of the latter and whether or not it has been converted to R134a.  Interior photos show a power group (windows, locks, seats) and the two-tone front buckets, with manual headrest adjustment dials, look quite plush.  Though not explicitly mentioned, it appears as though the original head unit is in place.

The only maintenance mentioned in the ad is a timing belt service, though there are no details about date or mileage.  On a 35-year-old car with 11,200 km on the clock, the date is the more important consideration.

The generation of 300ZX was produced for model years 1983- 1989.    There was a facelift in there, 1987, just after this 1986 car was produced and which gave the car a somewhat cleaner look.  It comes from the lineage of the 240-Z, a legendary car currently featured on our My Account page.  The Z32 followed from 1990 – 1996 and then the fabled Z-Car disappeared for a few years.  The 350Z appeared in 2003, followed by the 370Z and soon there will be a 400Z.  Find this Z31 on kijiji in Elgin, Ontario – not far from Ottawa and Montreal but closer to Kingston.  Thank you to original CCC member Sonny for submitting this external listing.  Remember, you can submit interesting ads you have seen on the CCC home page for consideration in this space.
