Here is a 1939 Chevrolet Master 85 Business Coupe, modified into a ‘Street Rod’ with numerous performance and aesthetic upgrades. The seller has opted for our third-party inspection service, please see the inspector’s report linked under CCC Vital Info when ready. Finished in Black Cherry, the coupe retains its classic appeal while integrating modern components for serious performance. The car is powered by a fuel injected 383-cubic-inch stroker V8 crate engine, paired with a 700R4 automatic transmission. This car shows under 15,000 miles (TMU) on the odometer, installed during a comprehensive restoration; , This restored 1939 Chevrolet Master 85 ‘Street Rod’ is offered in Ottawa, ON by the seller with one key, a 2024 appraisal report, and an Inspection report, linked here and below ‘CCC Vital Info’; we have also included it in the gallery. The owner disputes the inspector’s position about an oil leak, attributing to oil from the filter after an oil change performed immediately before the inspection. The inspector did not raise it in person and the owner has supplied photos 193 – 197 and this video to support his position that the underside of the car is dry.
The restoration that the car received under prior ownership has been referred to as an ‘Every nut and bolt’ restoration by the appraiser, whose comprehensive report can be used as a reference, appearing in our gallery. It included an extensive dismantle of the car and rebuild from the ground up. The exterior of this street rod is finished in Black Cherry, professionally completed through a multi-coat paint process. All bright work/trim and accent components have either been replated or buffed and polished to retain the original high gloss finish. Modern safety glass has been used throughout, all with a light grey tint. Custom etchings are visible on several glass sections.

Hi! Bob here. I’m selling my ’39 Chev Coupe Street Rod. I always wanted something like this, and I’ve really enjoyed it over the years. It gets a lot of positive attention. The car is a real head turner, and it won best in show at local classic/hot rod show I brought it to a couple years ago. It’s been stored in my heated garage, and never even parked outside overnight. All the work and upgrades were performed at the same shop (same shop who did the original rebuild), and I have all the records since I owned it. It runs great, and the sound is amazing! Super smooth, even on the on highway, and great passing power with the 383. It honestly doesn’t need anything, and if applicable, I fully expect it to pass an Ontario safety check. I’m available if anyone has any questions!
