Here is a 1967 Buick Skylark Two-Door Hardtop that has been sold on CCC before. The seller bought it from our site in 2022, that listing can be found here. The car is finished in Burgundy Mist over a black interior. Under hood is a 300 cubic-inch V8 mated to a 2-Speed Automatic to drive the rear wheels. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, chrome side mirror, other chrome appointments on the exterior including the bumpers, and a Retro Sound radio supported by a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer installed by the seller. It is offered with original literature in the form of a laminated bill of sale by the owner of three years. State of Pennsylvania title issued to a Philadelphia resident in October 1966 as well as the original Bill of Sale in the name of this same party on the letterhead of Fowler-Shinn Buick. There is also the original dealer order form, showing that the deposit was paid by a $50 traveler’s cheque.
The car was refinished under prior ownership in its original shade of Burgundy Mist in 2021. There are photos of the paint work in progress performed by Hasson Collision of Guelph in the gallery and the cowl tag is photographed as well as decoded in this listing. It possesses a black vinyl roof free of flaw while the paint and roof are complemented by chrome bumpers front and rear, trim, grille and front fender gills. While the bumpers are very presentable, we do note some imperfection in the door handles and lower chrome trim.
Rallye wheels with Buick centres measure 14”. With the original dealer invoice indicating deluxe wheel covers, we surmise that these were added somewhere along the way over the years. BFGoodrich Radial T/A blackwalls measuring 205/70 are fitted at all four corners, said to be installed in 2021 by the prior owner. There is a four-wheel drum brake system, the previous owner added a booster to make these power brakes, complemented by power steering from the factory.
In the cabin, black seats are in parchment vinyl with pleated inserts. The front bench offers two lap belts and houses an adjustable arm rest, with three belts in place on the rear bench. A seam in the front bench is split. Unmarked dash and carpets are a matching black with silver coloured trim throughout the interior. There are three floor mats and the Retro Radio was installed by the seller. The Buick script with would-be AM guides for tuning is a decal over the digital display, intended to look more period correct. The seller also added the analog clock adjacent the speedometer; however, it is non-functional; some residue from a stick-on clock remains on the centre-right of the dash face.
The sweeping speedometer in the dash has a high-reading of 120 MPH. Underneath is an odometer reading under 10,000 miles, under 5,000 of which were added by the seller. True Mileage is Unknown. While the car is equipped with air conditioning, the installed compressor is not working and the seller is including a new compressor to go with the car. Vent windows are equipped in the front doors to go with the freely operating manual up/down windows in the doors and for rear passengers.
The 300 c.i. V8 is complemented by a Rochester 2-barrel carburetor and was factory-rated at 210 horsepower (achieved at 4400 RPM), supported by a prodigious 310 lb.-ft. of torque (2400 RPM). The Super Turbine 300 two-speed automatic sends power rearward. Mechanical work as part of the restoration in 2021 by Norm’s Esso of Guelph included spark plugs and wires as well as a vacuum advance. Over his approximately 5,000 miles driven, the current owner did his own maintenance in his own home shop, as seen in our underside photos and videos, most recently an oil change and chassis lube. Other items serviced during his ownership tenure include U-joints, a power steering hose, sending unit and horns; he believes it will pass Ontario safety as it sits currently. The engine can be seen and heard starting, idling and under load in our videos.
This 1967 Buick Skylark Two-Door Hardtop, Restored is offered with two ignition keys, one door/trunk key, original documentation and service manuals from the owner in Cayuga, On.
