2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 with 6.1L V8 Hemi & 425 HP
This 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 has been with its second owner since 2009 and he has kept it stock save for a Mopar-supplied cold air intake. Owner is a licensed mechanic who owns a service shop as well as a body and paint facility so he has credibility when he says that it has been well cared for over the years. The Chrysler 300 was re-engineered from its previous front-drive layout to be become a rear-wheel drive sedan for the 2005 model year – and to great critical acclaim and market acceptance.
Available with a six-cylinder or eight-cylinder HEMI engine, it was a breakthrough sales sensation for Chrysler. At the time, its SRT – Street and Racing Technology – group was gaining momentum and attaching its name to various sport-oriented versions of Chrysler cars. The Chrysler 300C SRT8 was released for the 2006 model year, making this an example of the first model year of the vaunted SRT 300. It actually inspired a new designation for cars: the muscle sedan.
This is a re-list after the vehicle was previously sold on CCC in May 2023 and the winning bidder failed to follow through with their commitment to purchase. This was not due to any fault with the vehicle. The winner has been banned from future participation on CCC and their Buyer Premium was not refunded.

On the outside, the black paint retains a strong lustre – the car has been stored indoors when not in use during the seller’s ownership, which stems back to 2009. All lights and glass are in good condition with no cracks, all lights are functional. From the factory, this car was outfitted with staggered 20” SRT-branded wheels which remain with the car and in nice condition. The red Brembo calipers peek through the 10 spokes and they are skinned in Cooper ZEON RS-3-G1 performance tires with a W speed rating – treads are photographed, owner relates that the fronts have been driven appropriately 15,000 km while the rears have rolled under 1,000 km. Up front, they measure 245/45 and the rears are 255/45. The car is equipped with many features to dress it up and differentiate it from the non-SRT 300s – chin spoiler, rear spoiler, diagonal grid grille. It was also built with a remote start function, H.I.D. headlights, Halogen fogs, headlight washers, skirts all around, dual exhaust with chrome tips, and has had window tint added to the package. As one might expect from the owner of a body and paint facility, the car has been treated to touch-ups as needed over the seller’s 14 years of ownership, most recently the rear bumper cover was refinished. It does exhibit various rubs and scratches on the body commensurate with age – please the photos in the gallery.
Inside is where the luxuries of this Chrysler flagship really become apparent. The list of features and creature comforts is a mile long and all remain functional on this SRT: climate control with a/c, power group including seat and mirrors, heated mirrors, seat memory, heated front seats, factory head unit with disc changer as well as navigation, tilt wheel with various controls, analog clock, even a DVD player with monitor and S-video inputs for passengers in the rear bolstered bucket seats (there is also a shoulder belt for a rear passenger in the middle). There are OEM winter and summer mats included, the summers are embroidered with a Dodge logo – and come from its cousin, the Charger. Charcoal seats are covered in suede and leather, front buckets feature bolsters, lumbar controls and SRT8 crest embroidery – driver’s seat outside bolsters do show some wear and some cracking falling short of any tears. Black-on-white instrumentation exudes an upscale look – the speedometer and tachometer are the larger gauges, sandwiched by fuel and temperature gauges.
Under the hood is where the action is for the SRT line. In this case, the powerplant is a 6.1 litre V8 unit good for 425 horsepower at 6200 RPM when new – there is also torque for days, 420 lb.-ft. was had at 4800 RPM. Times in the 0-60 romp were under 5 seconds, quite a time for a car this substantial. The big pushrod 16-valve V8 has powered the car through its 246,000 km of service, the only modification to the car is the installation of a Mopar cold-air intake, which can be seen in the gallery, Air heading through the exhaust system results in a strong growl – this can be heard in the listing’s videos. The original price of admission for all of that performance was an MSRP exceeding $50,000 – in 2006 dollars. The robust transmission powering the rear wheels is a 5-speed automatic and is shifted on the floor. The Brembo brakes feature sharp contrasting red calipers and vented discs – 14.2” in front, 13.8” in the rear. Wheelbase is an even 120” and the rear-drive package provides predictable handling. Being a licensed mechanic himself, the owner advises that maintenance has always been kept up and wear items have been the only items where servicing has been required – extensive service history is included in the gallery, many items were done 4,000 km ago in 2020: brakes (pads and rotors), tires, starter and front wheel bearings. The linked Carfax (see CCC Vital Info) confirms that there has been no damage to the car. It sets out that the car was stolen when new – the owner purchased it from the insurance company after the latter settled with the car’s original owner and it was issued a new VIN by Ontario licensing authorities at that time. To get the car ready for the road when the owner purchased it required only the replacement of some modules – expensive parts as he wisely chose new OEM.
This 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT8 is available in Oakville, Ontario with two keys and owner’s/various other manuals.
