Exterior finish is in White Diamond Tricoat, which yields a pearly appearance in natural light.  Chrome appointments on the grille, side mouldings, fenders and lower window seals build on this to produce an eye-catching appearance.  The 12-spoke chrome wheels add to the gleam and are an upgrade at 22” in diameter, tires are a sizable 285/45.  Further chrome is in place on the roof rack and rear door latch cover.  We do note some surface rust where bumper cover meets quarter panels and one fender and there is minor scratching on the front bumper cover, visible in the gallery.  Headlamps are Xenon HIDs and running boards suit the size of the truck, which checks in at approximately 5500 lbs.

Also on the long list of features are:  navigation, remote start, rear parking assist sensors, back-up camera, power-adjustable pedals, heated steering wheel, power-operated hatch, heated and ventilated front seats, heated and reclining rear seats, satellite radio, Bose 5.1 surround audio, rear entertainment monitors with DVD and HDMI inputs, separate rear audio controls and three-zone climate control.

Interior is very generous in size, Cashmere with Cocoa Accents and Nuance Leather Seating Surfaces.  This colour scheme continues the clean appearance of the SUV.  Seats in the Cashmere finish present well, even the driver’s seat which would have had the most use.  As one would expect from Cadillac, particularly with “Luxury” as its trim level, there is a proliferation of power appointments:  windows, locks, heated mirrors, seats, sunroof.  There is space for seven, with captain’s chairs in the middle row, the third-row bench accommodating three.

Power is not in short supply with this Escalade.  The 6.2L Vortec V8 is mated to a six-speed automatic and was rated at 403 horsepower (5700 RPM) when new, torque rating was 417 lb.-ft. at 4300 RPM.  The Vortec features cylinder deactivation for fuel economy and is a variable valve timing unit with two valves per cylinder; it operates with a flex fuel system (FFV).  It is a workhorse when it comes to towing, with an 8,100 lb. capacity.  This Escalade is equipped with stability control and traction control.  There are photos under hood as well as of the underside in the gallery, the latter housing the spare tire and showing minor rust consistent with expectation for a ’12.  Some records of maintenance are logged on the Carfax, tires are newer and the truck has had a fresh oil change.  There are no modifications.
