3500 km Original Owner 2007 BMW Z4 3.0si Roadster 6-speed Manual

Up for auction is a 2007 BMW Z4 3.0si 6-speed Manual with an almost unbelievable 3500 km since new.  If anyone wanted a new one and missed out, this is probably the best opportunity you will come upon.  The owner has a collection of four two-place convertibles and a couple of them are underused.  This one never got into his rotation and another one listed this week (same owner) is mostly not taken out of the garage, either.

The Z4 replaced the Z3 in BMW’s lineup for the 2003 model year and addressed criticisms of the Z3 – mainly with a stiffer chassis and more cabin space.  The 3.0 si Roadster came to being in 2006 and was capable of getting this 3,000 lb. automobile from 0 to 60 in the 5.6 second range, with a 40 horsepower increase over the base 3.0i.

This car’s Titanium Silver Metallic paint remains in near-new condition.  All exterior features likewise look almost unused.  Convertible soft top functions as new and is free of any markings or wear.  Putting the top down is a one-push-of-a-button affair from the cabin, there are no latches to release or secure (there are videos lower on the page to demonstrate).  The 18” aluminum wheels on the 3.0 si are an upgrade from the 3.0i, with accenting around their circumference providing cachet.  This car sports the original Bridgestone Potenza tires installed at the factory – W-rated and measuring 225/40 in the front and 255/35 in the rear.  Headlights are a Xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) system, they are complemented by fog lights.  One tiny blemish in the paint is on the passenger side quarter panel – see the gallery photo with a loonie for perspective.  Owner has been advised that this can be buffed out.  He advises this is a “NEVER SEEN RAIN” car.  One look at the underside seems to bear this out.

On the inside, the creature comforts are extreme for a 2-place convertible.  Leather seating surfaces are in black, providing contrast to the silver paint, in between the seats’ headrests is a wind deflector.  Those familiar with the BMW line will be familiar with the M-Sport distinction, the high-performance leather covers a pair of M-Sport seats with power functionality and heat.  Leather wraps the diameter of the steering wheel, tilt- and telescopic-equipped, and there is more in the form of the shift boot.  This car is very well-appointed.  The complete list of functions for this BMW appears at the end of the listing, some of the highlights are the one-touch operation top and windows, climate control, BMW Business audio deck, BMW Business Hi-Fi with RDS (radio data system) and Bluetooth integration, driver’s seat memory, power group, controls integrated into the steering wheel.  The shift knob is a stainless-steel piece, which moulds to the hand shifting it and goes well with the aluminum line dash and interior trim.  This Z4 3.0si also features an on-board computer – between the ultra-low mileage on this machine and non-dealer performed oil changes, the service warning system appears to still be at the factory setting –that is an interesting original touch that is hard to find.

Performance comes from an N52 3.0 litre inline-six cylinder engine.  In addition to its go-getter power, this engine is known for smooth cruising.  It is rated by the factory at 255 horsepower (6600 RPM), trumping the 3.0i by 40 ponies, and 220 lb.-ft. of torque (2750 RPM).  The six-speed manual delivers the power to the rear wheels only, the transmission offers overdrive.  With the ultra-low mileage, the car’s only servicing has consisted only of oil changes – the seller has records for these on hand.  Traction control is on offer and can be by-passed, there is also a button by the shifter to engage the sport setting – this makes the throttle more responsive and stiffens the steering.  Tire pressure on the run-flat tires is monitored by a stock TPMS system.  There is also a rain-sensing wiper system in place and as most would expect from a modern BMW, there is a four-wheel disc ABS system in place.  A hill-assist feature prevents roll-back when starting uphill from a stop.  A clean Carfax in the CCC Vital Info section sets out this car’s one-owner history.
