51K km One Owner 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible SOLD for $7,600

This 51K km One Owner 2003 Saab 9-3 SE Convertible is finished in silver over a black leather interior. The spouse of the original purchaser in 2003 is the seller, it has travelled under 51,000 km since new and careful use is reflected in the condition presented as well as in the clean Carfax linked in CCC Vital Info. A Saab loyalist, he traded a 1995 Saab 900 when he bought it and the bill of sale from when the car was delivered by the selling dealer appears in our photo gallery – with a price in excess of $57,000. It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0 litre inline four-cylinder engine driving the front wheels through a four- speed automatic transaxle. The black soft top is power-operated – please see the videos of it in operation – and other equipment includes OEM six-spoke 17” wheels, an in-dash AM/FM/CD stereo supplemented by a trunk-mounted Saab OEM CD changer, power-operated front seats with heaters, power group and automatic climate control. This car was engineered by Saab before the change in corporate control by General Motors and is the last year of such a 9-3.

Finished in Silver Metallic (Saab code 268), at a $500 premium when new, the hydraulic-controlled power roof in black provides contrast. Black side mouldings provide further contrast and other exterior accessories include fog lights and headlight wipers. There are minor imperfections at three corners, on the bumper covers – these are illustrated in our photo gallery. The exhaust exit wears a polished tip for a dressed up look while the rear spoiler adds sportiness. The car was equipped with the sport package when new, as well as undercoating, paint sealant and Fabric Guard.

The 17” Saab wheels with twin three-spoke patterns are shod in a set of W-rated Michelin Pilot AS/3 tires, date coded 2016 and installed in November 2018. The tires are 215/55 all the way around. Underneath is a set of ABS four-wheel disc brakes, and the car is equipped with traction control. Although most of the convertibles would never have rolled much in winter, they enjoy most of the features of the non-convertibles – known to be excellent winter performers, given their Swedish heritage.

Inside, the front buckets are power controlled with position memory for the driver. There is also a manual lumbar adjustment for each front occupant. The rear bench with two seat belts is also upholstered in black leather (Saab code K12). Black carpet protected by OEM Saab-branded floormats is found underfoot. There are an automatic climate control system, power windows, remote locks (buttons to operate also found on key), an OEM AM/FM/CD stereo with trunk-mounted Saab-branded CD changer (a > $1,000 option when new) and cruise control.

Beyond the four-spoke steering wheel equipped with an airbag and displaying the Saab emblem is a speedometer with a maximum reading of 260 km/h. The tachometer to its left maxes out at 7000 RPM with a 6000 RPM redline. There is a multi-gauge cluster to the left for fuel level, coolant temperature and a real-time turbo boost meter. On the left is also a digital six-digit odometer, reading under 51,000 km.

The powerplant is a turbocharged inline-four producing 205 horsepower from the factory. The four- speed automatic transaxle sends all of this power to the front wheels. Most recent oil change was in July 2024. Other service, notably an overhaul of the hydraulics controlling the roof, is set out by work orders in our photo gallery. Front brakes were done in 2019 – pads and rotors replaced, calipers were serviced, rear brakes were inspected and rated as 75%.
