No Reserve Alfa Montreal V8-Powered 1980 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 5-Speed Manual

Here is an Alfa Montreal V8-Powered 1980 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 5-Speed Manual, finished in white with black graphics over black and grey cloth upholstery. This modified Alfetta GTV is powered by a 2.6-litre quad-cam V8 engine sourced from an Alfa Romeo Montreal, paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. This car underwent a comprehensive build completed between 2001 and 2010 and is offered by the seller with the excitement of No Reserve, a car cover and one key.

The exterior was refinished in its original white, complemented by black vinyl decals. The seller notes that the car was repainted in 2008, at which time repairs were carried out to the right rear quarter panel. Exterior equipment includes a sunroof, side mirrors and black rear spoiler in contrasting black, chrome Euro-style bumpers, as well as rectangular driving lamps integrated into the lower front valance.

Restored 1974 Triumph TR6 4-speed manual

This GTV rides on aftermarket five-lug 15-inch silver alloy wheels, mounted with a matching set of Bridgestone Potenza tires that the seller advises were recently installed and date coded 2022. The staggered rims are 15×7” in the front and 15×8” in the rear, tires are sized 205/50R15 at all four corners, V-rated. Tread depth and date codes are shown in the gallery. The front axle incorporates Alfa Romeo Milano Verde-sourced steering knuckles, Brembo calipers, and vented brake rotors. Suspension upgrades include stiffer torsion bars and Koni shock absorbers at all four corners, and the vehicle sits lower than stock, as shown in the gallery. Undercarriage photos reveal clean suspension hardware and floor pan.

Inside, the cabin is furnished with Recaro sport seats sourced from a Milano Verde, reupholstered in black and grey cloth. The rear bench is trimmed to match. Equipment includes a MOMO three-spoke steering wheel with Alfa Romeo emblem in the centre, JVC AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, and a wooden shift knob. Instrumentation includes a centrally mounted 10,000 RPM Veglia Borletti tachometer, alongside a gauge cluster atop the centre stack that provides readouts for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature as well as a 220 km/h speedometer. The mechanical six-digit odometer was reset at the conclusion of the build, currently displaying under 7,000 kilometres; given the odometer reset, we are calling this unit TMU (True Mileage Unknown).

Under the hood is a 2.6-litre Alfa Romeo quad-cam V8 from an Alfa Romeo Montreal, featuring SPICA mechanical fuel injection. Supporting systems include a Howe aluminum radiator, upgraded fuel injector lines and an electronic ignition. Custom tubular headers feed a custom exhaust system, which can be reviewed in the photo gallery. The engine compartment is in tidy condition, complemented by a custom “GTV-8 ALFA ROMEO” plaque on either side of the engine cover.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual rear-mounted transaxle, also reportedly sourced from an Alfa Romeo Milano Verde. It features a limited-slip differential and a 3.75:1 final drive ratio. The seller notes that the car runs and drives well, with sorted handling characteristics enhanced by its modified suspension and balanced weight distribution. A new battery was installed in April 2024, and images in the gallery show the underside of the car.

Sorry forgot my other question, I see it has a tach that goes to 10k but the original Montreal’s had a 7k redline, does the car have a rev limiter set? Thanks again

Hello, what a wonderful creation in this Alfa first of all. How is the fueling cold starts and drivability? I have read the SPICA was known to be wonderfully Italian lol

Good day everyone. This is Theron. My uncle asked me to post the following comment. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask…

Hello, My name is Neville.
Over the years of working on this project I have really enjoyed Ms. Alfa. Building her was a dream come true. I have been very careful with this build. I have been fastidious about her maintenance and have always stored her in a heated garage.
This car runs great, and I expect that she will pass the Ontario safety check without any issues. I am retiring soon and would like to see Ms. Alfa end up in the hands of a new owner who will appreciate her beauty and uniqueness.
I am on hand to answer any questions and am available to facilitate physical showings.
Neville

Hi Everyone. Thanks for watching and for the early bids. “Theron”, the seller’s nephew, is knowledgeable about the car and assisting with the tech side of the sale.
Good luck, bidders!

There’s been some interesting cars on this site, but wow is this one cool! Such a unique and quality looking build. I’m reducing my herd rather than adding at the moment, but if I was I’d be biding. GLWS
