Inside, front bucket seats are trimmed in black leather with tan headrests and matching sand-coloured door cards that carry wood-veneer cappings. A wood-veneer dashboard is in place while the wooden centre console houses a floor-mounted shifter for the three-speed automatic gearbox. Equipment includes an AM/FM radio, manual windows, leather-wrapped adjustable two-spoke steering wheel with central Rover 3500 S emblem, and adjustable front seats. Instrumentation consists of a 140 MPH speedometer, a 6,000 RPM tachometer with a 5,200 RPM redline, and a five-digit odometer that shows under 10,000 miles (TMU).
The original aluminum 3.5-litre overhead-valve V8 is in place, having produced 210 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 RPM out of the factory. Induction is via twin SU carburetors, and power is sento the rear wheels via a 3.08:1 limited-slip differential. The V8 sits cleanly in the engine bay with space for maintenance access. Accompanying the sale is a binder with ownership records dating back to the ‘70s. It highlights a complete engine rebuild in 1983, documented with detailed handwritten notes, receipts and period photographs.
This 1970 Rover P6 3500S 4D is offered with a full-size spare tire, factory literature, a binder of records and will be sold at no reserve by the seller in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Important Notes: While this sedan was photographed by CCC, there was no battery in the car when we attended. So, it was neither started nor driven while we were on site. This car is offered as is, where is with no representations made by the owner beyond the photographs. The vehicle is to be collected from the photographed heated storage facility. It being a private home, no repairs can be carried out at the seller’s site.
