Complementing the Nautical blue finish are dark grey bumper covers and rocker panels. On the exterior, this 300E is equipped with headlight wipers, metal sunroof which tilts and slides back, aftermarket clear Euro indicator lenses and a functional power antenna operated by dashboard switch and radio power. Adding to the car’s European history is a faded NL sticker, the EU country code for Netherlands. Paint meter readings are included in the gallery.
The factory 15” alloys are shod in older Pirelli P6000 with evently worn, still-grippy treads. Recent service includes idler arm and rear brake lines in October 2020 as well as air conditioning service in June 2021. Seller notes for Ontario buyers that the car will need rear shocks to achieve an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate.
The power front seats covered in Blue MB-Tex (#172) feature a memory function for the driver’s seat. The MB-Tex extends to rear seating and door cards. Other interior amenities include wood trim, the automatic climate control, cruise control, tilt steering, power group and an anti-theft system. The period Blaupunkt Cambridge head unit is an aftermarket item. Original blue carpeted mats are clean and under the blue heavier duty mats visible in the photos.
The period Mercedes-Benz four-spoke steering wheel features an air bag. Beyond it are found a 240 km/h speedometer; a tachometer to 7,000 RPM with 6,200 RPM redline; gauges for temperature, fuel and oil pressure; as well as an analog clock. The 92,000 km reading shows on a six-digit odometer.
The M103 engine was rated at 177 HP when new, maximum torque checked in at 188 lb.-ft. The drive wheels are in the rear. Fluids and shifter bushings were changed in October 2020. Other service records on hand will be in the car on pick-up by the new owner, same for owner’s manual and accessories including a tool kit and key ring also featuring the M-B European Delivery Program crest, matching that on the grille.
