67K km One Family-Owned 1985 Ford Mustang GT Cobra 5-Speed Manual SOLD for $23,527 + Buyer Premium

Here is a 1985 Ford Mustang GT Cobra 5-Speed Manual that has been in the same family since new and driven a modest 67,000 km.  It was sold new at Dixie Ford in Mississauga, Ontario.  The car is finished in Medium Canyon Red over gray cloth and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It is further equipped with a limited-slip differential, 15″ alloy wheels, a dual Flowmaster exhaust system, and cloth sport seats. This Fox-body Mustang is offered by the seller with maintenance records – see listing below of recent work to ready the car for auction.  Ontario bidders, please note:  this car will be sold with an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate.

The car’s original Medium Canyon Red (2A) finish is contrasted by a black GT hood stripe and side GT moldings. Other equipment includes a rear spoiler with Cobra decal, Flowmaster dual exhaust with long stainless outlets, quad halogen headlights, and Marchal fog lights with covers.  Covers are not installed, stored separately because of the difficulty in replacing them and resultant high value.  Three cobra emblems are adhered to the front fenders and dash, easily removed for a return to the stock look.

The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in light gray with Charcoal Gray cloth centers complemented by red piping as well with a gray dash and matching door cards with driver’s map pocket. The sport front seats feature adjustable side bolsters and thigh supports, and additional amenities include a period aftermarket AM/FM/cassette stereo by Eclipse, crank windows, 50/50 split-folding rear seat and functioning retractable cargo cover.  An electronic alarm controlled by separate key fob is installed.  Aftermarket protective mats are in place in front, original matching grey mats protect the rear seat footwells.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 180 km/h speedometer and a 7000 RPM tachometer with 5800 RPM redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows under 67,000 km, which can be corroborated by service records and the one-family history of this Mustang GT.

The 5.0-liter V8 features a Holley four-barrel carburetor and forged camshafts and was factory rated at 210 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential.  Undercarriage photographs are in our gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents and lists registration history in Ontario.  The other damage noted was a glass claim and the reason why a “Carlite” embossed logo appears on all glass except the passenger door window.
