Although this 2008 Audi R8 Coupe V8 6-speed manual Quattro is now 14 years old, it mimics the Audi we are currently running on auction, the 110K km 1997 Audi A4 5-speed manual with 2.8L V6, in that it has very low mileage. The 4.2 litre V8 has powered the car a mere 16,000 km since new. That mileage has been shared by two owners to date, the car Is looking for its third custodian. The car started out as rare: in 2008, there were a mere 155 R8s sold in Canada, all made by hand in Neckarsulm, Germany.

The 4.2 V8 is mounted mid-ship and good for 420 horsepower when new. Power is complemented by 317 lb.-ft. of torque, 90% of which is on hand from 3500 RPM to 7500 RPM. The six-speed manual transmission is gated – a nod to Italian sports car tradition. On that note, this car shared its platform with the Lamborghini Huracan when the latter was released in 2014. This car is a Quattro, the proprietary description for Audi’s all-wheel drive systems.
This Type 42 body’s grey paint retains a nice shine. With the grey exterior, the bright silver panel behind the doors is more of a subtle effect. This detail is much more noticeable on cars with contrasting paint. The five double-spoke wheels are said to be being treated to new tires before sale; they appear in the photos to be the optional 19” alloys but this should be checked with seller. The car also has a new battery.
On the inside, colour is consistent with the exterior grey. The seats appear well-kept and are trimmed in a leather/suede combination. The steering wheel looks even more sporty than the typical three-spoke, with its flat bottom (not to be confused with any songs by Queen). Shifter and pedals in metal build on the sportiness. It is a compact cabin, with no space behind the seats given that is where the engine takes residence. The front of the vehicle includes a suitable stowage space while the mid-engine does not afford any space for cargo in the rear.
