Race Day – Thanks to the generosity of REVTV, which gave CCC some promotional event tickets, we visited Canadian Tire Motorsports Park outside of Bowmanville Sunday, July 3 for the Chevrolet Grand Prix as the only Canadian stop on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.  There was racing all day, the grand event was won by Cadillac Racing – drivers Rengervander Zande and Sebastien Bourdais, with lots of cars to see in between races. Other races included Masters Racing Legends USA/Formula Atlantic and the Prototype Challenge but the warm-ups alone were enough to get hearts pumping – there was adrenaline on long supply.  There were also separate BMW, Corvette and Porsche parade laps to add to the race day fun.

In connection with our advertising with and membership in the Porsche Club of America Upper Canada Region, we were able to call Porsche Canada‘s Porscheplatz our home base for race day.  We even got to lap the track three times in between early races in our road cars for parade laps.  Founder Dave was in his 1973 Porsche 914 – good in the twisties but no race car!  So our gallery today includes some of the Chevrolet sponsorship area, a race video and some of the cars at Porscheplatz.  Enjoy
