In connection with the Cobble Beach Concours, an esteemed event for only the very best, our friends at Hagerty run an event nearby the day before which is somewhat a parody.  We ventured up to Owen Sound for the Concours d’Lemons in September and bring you today some of what we saw.  In fact, the two cars featured in the main part of the page were not involved, they were just a couple of beauties we noticed while walking around town – no doubt in the area for Cobble Beach the next day, both incredible in their own ways.  Down below are photos of some of the d’Lemons participants.  Almost all took home an award.  Thank you, Hagerty, for the fun and lighthearted event.

Oh… should have said… the Mercedes that I especially enjoyed, is the 1960s “fantail” 300SE.

In the mid-to-late ’50s, a neighbour had a Nash Statesman just like this one. To me, as a sub-ten-year-old, that car looked most impressive! Nothing else like it in all of Rexdale.
Terrific group of cars. If you know me, my taste is eclectic and a bit eccentric. The Nash, the Saab and the way that Mercedes is set up, are the ones that pull me in.

Well now compared to the cars used in the Concours De Lemon in California these cars are quite nice.
