Race the Rock!  It’s the time of year when enthusiasts start thinking about making plans to compete at Targa Newfoundland.  One of the most unique competitions of driving one will ever find, what with the combinations of cars, Newfoundland geography and hospitality, the locals, the competitors and the like.  Some of the leaders in the annual effort to promote the event turned up in the Greater Toronto area last weekend for a couple of Targa events:  one at Hagerty Garage+Social in Burlington, On and another at the upstart Aspen Motoring Club in Toronto.  Handling the presentations were Robert Giannou, Director and Targa Newfoundland Founder; Corey Finkelstein, Governor; and Tom Pokorny, Governor.  There were also past participants in the audience, including legendary auto journalist Jim Kenzie.  Most of our photos are of the surroundings at G+S and Aspen where indoor car storage comes with membership; we figured we would slip those in.  And what a show of cars we got at both locales, space limitations prevent us from showing all.  But the event was about Targa Newfoundland, with several people asking questions and moving closer to the commitment of registering.  Have a look at its website here, maybe you will Race the Rock in ’25!
