The brakes are a complete set for a pre-C 356. The complete set differentiates it from many vendors’ offerings who part out the brakes and sell off individual parts within. Those in the trade are familiar. Shoes, cylinders and springs are visible in the gallery photos.
The set was procured by the shop’s owner at a well-known meet in Carlisle, Pa. The idea for them was for a “money is no object” VW Beetle restoration but plans changed and they have been sitting in the climate-controlled shop for some years.
The 356C was introduced for the 1964 model year and was the first to be offered with disc brakes. Check your application or with your shop but the seller understands these to be a set for 356, 356A or 356B. The part number for the rear drums is 695.331.063.01 while the part number for the front drums is 695.341.063.01. Both PN’s are visible in the gallery photos, scan to photos #12 and #13.
