The burgundy paint is original and a unique colour for a Beetle. Contrast is provided in the form of extensive chrome and white-lettered Cooper Cobra tires. Conventional bumpers have been replaced by chrome bumper guards for a more aggressive look, front and rear. This means that the front indicator lights had to be changed, given that from the factory they were housed within the bumper. These are now LED and integrated within the headlight lenses. Other custom looks on the exterior are the colour-matched sun visor above the windshield, running boards, removable colour-matched vinyl protector on the front trunk, custom LED tail lamps similar to those in later New Beetles, period-correct roof rack and twin dual exhaust pipes. The Cooper Radial G/T tires are two years old and are reported to have rolled 500 km with the car. Seller does note minor pitting in the paint up front from normal use.
Inside, there is further custom treatment. There is an updated Volkswagen steering wheel, and two-tone cream door cards, featuring crank and vent windows. There are pop-out windows for rear passengers. Seats are protected with matching covers, the original upholstery underneath is reported as excellent condition. All three pedals have been changed out for metal items with rubber grips. There is a more modern console separating driver and passenger foot wells and the shift boot found within it is an upgrade. The front trunk is very clean, we note the presumably unused spare mounted on a steel wheel and presentable carpet.

The engine bay features extensive chrome and gleams, it is the likely primary source of the many awards the car has claimed. The engine itself is an air-cooled 1.6L flat-four, often referred to as a Super 1600, which employs Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The drive wheels are in the rear. In preparation for the sale the car has had an oil change and has also had a fresh battery installed. Built in Mexico, the car has two built-in alarm systems.
This 1975 Volkswagen Super Beetle 4-speed manual includes fun props in the form of the pictured surfboard and picnic basket, making it show-ready. It is available in Colborne, Ontario.
By bidding, I agree to CCC terms including immediate payment of buyer premium for auction winners. All bids and buyer premiums in Canadian dollars (CAD).
