**SOLD on the CCC Back Lot** 83K km 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Four-Door Coupe

This 83K km 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Four-Door Coupe is a low-mileage example of the four-door supercoupe first offered by Mercedes-Benz for model year 2005.  It at once offers the performance to leave many sports cars in its wake while treating its occupants to luxury both in terms of appearance and creature comforts inside.  This is a re-list for a friend of the site after this car did not sell by auction last year.  With our expanded user base and new CCC Back Lot offering, he is wanting to list again.  As suggested by the odometer reading change from 2021, the owner has an extensive collection and this AMG CLS 63 is not getting due use nor, idle, is it providing enjoyment.  Current owner purchased it in 2020 at 80,000 km.  In the words of Autoblog, the CLS was available in two trims, powerful and crazy-powerful.  This is the crazy-powerful version.

CCC Back Lot price $14,995 + Buyer Premium 4.99% (Taxable)

The car is finished in black, giving it a dramatic look when combined with the swoopy lines and four-door coupe body style, finished with an understated rear spoiler on the trunk lid.  The original price of admission for this smart design was steep – MSRP was over $128,000.  Adding to the striking lines are the frameless door windows, uniquely shaped headlight lenses, quad exhaust outlets and carbon-fibre rear splitter.  Five double-spoke wheels are 19” and skinned in 245/40 Goodyear Eagle W-rated tires up front and 255/40 Continental Y-rated tires in the rear.  Wheels are showing curb rash.  Mercedes-Benz badging is intact and all glass shows the three-pointed star.  AMG door sills are a subtle reminder on entry of what this car is.

2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG

Inside, there are four bucket seats, power, heated and cooled as well as Mercedes-branded in front, and heated individual seating in the rear with another console.  Driver’s and passenger’s seat offers memory function.  Mats are AMG branded and snap into place.  Dash and instrumentation show off the AMG influence on the car, showing carbon-fibre and a speedometer maxing out at 320 km/h.  There is also a special edition plaque on the door of the glove box signifying that this car is from the AMG arm of Mercedes-Benz, where it engineers its most performance-oriented cars.  Black leather seats treat their occupants to comfort long on luxury.  Sound is by Harman Kardon, the car is equipped with reverse sensors and there is an adjustable air-ride suspension – driver can choose whether he wants the most in terms of performance or if he wants to treat his passengers to a ride more in tune with comfort.  Air conditioning is not currently functional.  Seller believes it needs a recharge but has not had it checked.

2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG

As suggested by the use of the AMG name on this car, its performance is extreme.  Power was rated at 507 HP when new (6800 RPM) and just starting or listening to the engine today ensures this car is ready for whatever the driver wants to throw its way.  The engine is a supercharged 6.2L V8 whose torque rating was 465 lb.-ft. when new (5200 RPM) and good for a 0-60 run in the 5.5 second range.  It features double overhead cams and 32 valves and is powered by gasoline.  The seven-speed automatic offers paddle shifters beyond the steering wheel and sends all of that power to the rear wheels only  – this is a spirited 4-door sports coupe – with the convenience and safety of traction control.  Recent servicing during seller’s ownership includes Mercedes-Benz calipers, rotors, pads, transmission service and new spark plugs.  Buyer reports that a/c is not blowing cold and that he expects the car to pass Ontario safety as it currently sits.
