2005 Ford Mustang GT 5-Speed Manual, a Thrifty Thursday Offering
Here is a 2005 Ford Mustang GT 5-Speed Manual, a Thrifty Thursday Offering. Finished in Windveil Blue Metallic over Light Graphite leather, it is powered by the 4.6 litre V8 standard on Mustang GTs of the day – mated up to a five-speed manual transmission getting the power to the rear wheels. While the Carfax is squeaky clean, the body is good and the car is running well, it does need work and that is why it is a Thrifty Thursday offering. The owner’s shop has furnished details of what the car needs – there are redundancies on the sheets presented because it was inspected by more than one mechanic at the shop. We do have driving videos on the listing, they give a sense of how well the car runs and drives currently.

The 2005 Mustang was a breakthrough car, the fifth generation of the pony car which is still going. It is the first year of the S197 body style, referred to as retro-futuristic – with four round lights up front harkening back to the 1969 models mixed with a modern, clean take on the first-generation classic. It was a success both in terms of critical and market acclaim, replacing the SN95 version of the fox body, which had been around since the 1979 model year. The car is equipped with a limited slip differential, painted five-spoke 17” OEM wheels, power driver’s seat, Pioneer infotainment system, cruise control and air conditioning. The car has rolled under 114,000 km since new.
The exterior is complemented by dual polished chrome exhaust exits, rear spoiler and GT badges. Fog lights and power mirrors are also outfitted. The square set-up five-spoke 17s are skinned in Pirelli P Zero Nero tires measuring 235/55, speed rated as “Y” and date coded 2013. The coupe is equipped with traction control and four wheel disc brakes with ABS. There are some marks on the rear bumper, driver’s side corner.
In the cabin, the car remains mostly clean though trim on the door cards has become unadhered, held in place by staples on one side; there are also leather salt stains on the grey carpet, matching the leather Light Graphite seats, at the driver’s footwell. There is also some cracking on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. Keyless entry is by an OEM fob. There is a Shaker stereo with in-dash 6 CD changer. OEM front mats are in the trunk with an aftermarket set currently in place.
There is a three-spoke retro-looking steering wheel with cruise control operation buttons. Beyond the steering wheel from the driver’s vantage point, there is a speedometer with a maximum reading of 240 km/h. To its left from the driver’s sight line is an 8000 RPM tachometer with a 6000 RPM red line. In between are gauges for fuel level, amperage, coolant temperature and oil pressure.
The 4.6 litre V8 is stock to the car, it is equipped with 24 valves. It was rated at 300 horsepower with 320 lb.-ft. of torque at the ready.
This 114K km 2005 Ford Mustang GT 5-Speed Manual, a Thrifty Thursday Offering, is represented by the owner’s trusted shop in Toronto and is available there with one key with fob and a clean Carfax.
