1971 Chevrolet Caprice Custom – riding on 28″ wheels… 28s!

2023 06 04 posting – Cruise Night by Back Alley Cruisers, Scarborough, On held May 23, 2023

A couple of Tuesdays back, we went to Scarborough to take in the weekly cruise night put on by the Back Alley Cruisers.  We were a bit melancholy as this was the first B.A.C. Scarborough gathering of the year and, thus, the first since the untimely passing of its President, Bob Forrest.  Bob put tireless effort into the club and its weekly cruise night, including its charitable pursuits.  While the still-extensive group of volunteers will make sure the chapter and weekly event soldier on, we are worse off without Bob as its leader.  Rest in peace, Bob, and our continued regards to Sandra.

On to the cars – because it’s about the cars.  Some neat rides this night.  In our mind, the ’71 Caprice convertible might have stolen the show – custom, custom, custom…  Corvette engine, 28″ wheels – yep 28, Louis Vuitton-style interior… this was some kind of project and it was seemingly executed to near-perfection.  Of course the C4 Corvette caught our eye – a little older than the low-mile ’93 we have on auction, and maybe not quite as nice.  Lots of other neat pieces to see, please let us know what you think or what your favourite might be in the Comments section below the gallery.  Enjoy the scenery!
