The car wears 16” x 9.5” “salad-shooter”-style wheels procured from a 1988 Corvette Z51.  They are an inch wider than the original “turbine”-style wheels, which are also included and appear in the gallery.  The salad-shooters are skinned in a set of W-rated Yokohama AVS dB S2 tires, 275/40 and displaying good depth at all four corners, age is not known.  The 16” x 8.5” turbines wear a set of Eagle VR M+S P255/50 winter tires which were in place on the salad-shooters when purchased by the owning family.  The car has not been used in winter.

The 5.7-liter L98 V8 engine features Tuned Port Injection.  The powerplant was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 345 lb.-ft. of torque, though this car has had a chip installed to increase power output.  The V8 drives the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.  Most recent oil change was in Autumn 2023, the car has been driven under 50 km.  The owner believes it will pass Ontario safety as it sits, unless tire age affects servicing shop’s endorsement of the car.  There are underside photos included in the gallery.  Base price for the ’87 Corvette convertible was $34,122 before any options.
