No Reserve 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 430 Cabriolet

Available by No Reserve auction is a No Reserve 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK 430 Cabriolet. No suspense or guess work as to what reserve price might be placed on it, this car will sell to the highest bidder when the auction clock runs out. This Cabriolet is finished in silver over a grey interior with black seat inserts. Power is laid down by the rear wheels from a 4.3 litre V8 engine via a five-speed automatic transmission. The car has a contrasting black power soft top and is outfitted with AMG Monoblock wheels, cruise control, Bose sound, automatic climate control, front power- adjustable bucket seats which are heated and fog lamps. This CLK was left to the widow of the owner who purchased it in April 2023 and the sale is being handled by their adult daughter.  Important note: Convertible top is not currently functional, owner speculates a defective pump.

The Cabrio is finished in silver and sports the AMG appearance package, with revised front bumper cover, lower rear apron and side skirts to complement the monoblocks. Further exterior features include power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, fog lights and a light tint. There are some flaws which we have included in the photo gallery. The Carfax linked in CCC Vital Info shows an estimate from 2008 in an amount of under $3,500. It shows history in Ontario originally, then the province of Quebec, then back to Ontario. We note that the front fog light on the driver’s side is cracked.

The five-spoke AMG Monoblock wheels measure 17” in diameter. They are lined in 225/45 Sailun Atrezzo tires in front and Rotalla in the rear. Braking is by four-wheel disc with ABS and the original suspension is complemented by Electronic Stability Control.

In the cabin, the predominantly grey leather upholstery is contrasted by black inserts on the four seats – heated 10-way power bucket seats in front, a two-place bench in the rear. Birdseye maple veneers adorn the console, dashboard and door cards. Dual zone climate control, upgraded Kenwood AM/FM/CD head unit and memory seats further treat the occupants. The owner relays that the a/c blows cold. We do note flaws in the form of steering wheel leather, driver’s door covering needing repair, lower door card on driver’s side needs minor seam repair, rust damage to interior passenger side rocker panel, lower door card on passenger’s side needs minor seam repair, passenger’s side rear side trim needs repair, small crack to lower left corner side of driver’s display panel (clear plastic cover) and the driver’s seat does not fold forward when release latch is engaged.  These are in addition to the currently inoperable convertible top.

The multi-function steering wheel fronts a centrally-mounted 260 km/h speedometer. To its right is a tachometer with a 7000 RPM maximum reading and 6000 RPM red line. To its left are temperature and fuel gauges. We note that the “visit workshop” message is illuminated in the dash. The seller relays that the six-digit odometer reads under 193,000 km. The trunk is clean and houses the battery as well as a spare tire on a marked AMG wheel.

Factory rating for the 4.3L V8 was 275 horsepower, complemented by 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Rear wheels receive powered via the five-speed automatic. The clean engine compartment is photographed in the gallery while there are videos of the underside. The seller mentions that rotors and pads were changed Summer 2023.
