The convertible top is power-operated and is demonstrated by video; it comes with snap-down boot for open-air motoring.  Seller reports that he always uses a towel in the rear window when lowering the top.  Fog lights are integrated into the front spoiler.  The air conditioning blows cool, “state-of-the-art” for an air-cooled Porsche.  Further interior features include an aftermarket Kenwood head unit, cruise control and Porsche-scripted floor mats.

1988 Porsche 911 G50 5-Speed Manual Cabriolet

This Carrera is equipped with period OEM Fuchs black wheels, staggered with polished lip, 7 inches wide fore of the cabin, 8 inches wide aft.  Diameter measurement is 16” and the Fuchs are skinned in Falken W-rated tires:  P205/55 in the front, P225/50 in the rear.  Wheels come with locks and OEM Porsche centre caps.

The flat-six engine of this 1988 is a 3.2 litre M930/25 with Bosch Motronic engine management.  Factory horsepower was rated as 217 (5900 RPM) with a torque rating of 195 lb.-ft. at 4800 RPM.  The M930 has powered the car to its odometer reading of 82,000 miles.  The G50 5-speed manual sends this power to the rear wheels, under the engine on this R/R layout.  Top speed was 152 miles per hour, very respectable for the era.  Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, two pistons at each caliper.  Underside presents as clean; photos are included in the gallery.

The cabin remains very presentable and is finished in grey leather.  Matching grey carpets are in place, protected by Porsche-branded floor mats supplementing the carpets, as are matching door cards.  The Kenwood KDC-X705 head unit is supported by an amplifier mounted in the front trunk.  Power windows, power locks and power seats are also among the features in this well-appointed Cabriolet.  Instrumentation by VDO is dominated by a centre-mounted 7000 RPM tachometer, with red line at 6300.  A US-market car, the 160 MPH speedometer has complementing metric readings maxing out at 270 km/h.  To its right is an analog clock; oil pressure, fuel and temperature gauge are on the left.  These all appear beyond the stock leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel.

The finish of the car remains lustrous and it comes with a clean Carfax report – see CCC Vital Info, the clean US Carfax is also excerpted in the gallery.  Seller notes two small stone chips and that the front-right fender and rear-left quarter panel have been repainted following minor 2009 parking lot incidents.  Factory literature accompanies this Cabriolet.  The owner is including an extra Mahle oil filter, an extra valve cover gasket set and a vertical window seal for the driver’s side.
