This Bentley’s front quarter panel and driver’s door were refinished in British Racing Green in 2022 under current ownership following damage in transport; this and a 2007 incident are noted on the Carfax (linked in “CCC Vital Info”). It features red-accented badging (distinct from the green in 1993), bright trim, a power antenna, and polished double exhaust outlets. Bentley made comprehensive updates and improvements for the model year on the Turbo R to rationalize the $286,000 MSRP: driver and passenger air bags; chrome moulding along the bonnet centre line was deleted; new style 16-inch alloy wheels with a wider rim section and black background trim centres; Electronic Boost Control, designed to override the normal turbo control system during full throttle manoeuvres; Shift Energy Management (SEM), which momentarily reduces engine torque before a gear shift, achieving an almost undetectable change; steering; and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC), designed to adapt the transmission pattern in accordance with the manner in which the car is being driven. It does show three instances of surface rust, please see the gallery photos.
Stock Bentley 16” wheels are shod in Michelin Defender tires installed in 2013, approximately 37,000 km ago. The tires measure 235/65 at all four corners with a visible 2013 date code.
The seating surfaces are upholstered in cream leather, with burled wood veneers accenting the complementary dashboard, centre console, and door cards. Amenities for the occupants include power-adjustable and heated front seats with position memory, automatic climate control, an AM/FM/cassette head unit connected to an Alpine six-disc CD changer and Alpine amplifier mounted in the trunk, period car phones in both the front and rear centre consoles, and wool headliner and lambs-wool carpets. The driver’s wool mat shows wear as does its seat and arm rest.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel with airbag fronts a speedometer topping out at 170 MPH / 270 km/h and a 5,000 RPM tachometer with 4,500 RPM redline. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 83,000 miles, equivalent to approximately 135,000 km. The check engine light is said to illuminate occasionally on start-up and extinguish itself once the car is underway.
The turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Factory ratings were 360 HP @ 4300 RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque @ 3000 RPM. In original testing, these could combine to get this substantial 5300 lb. Turbo R from 0-60 in 6.4 seconds, 1/4 mile in under 15 seconds. Most recent repairs were driver and passenger memory seat batteries as well as an indicator relay, all replaced March 2024. Select maintenance and repair listing appears at the base of this listing, seller notes that he has documentation for all of it. Seller suggests that if he were keeping the car, he would address a small power steering fluid leak and change the front coil springs. Photos of the engine bay and underside appear in the gallery.
