Fargo D Series Pickup
2023 07 31 Blog Post – Some of Our Favourite Fargos
Fargo Trucks have an interesting history that not many are aware of. The original Fargo Motor Car Company began in Chicago in 1913. Years later, in 1928, Fargo was acquired by the Chrysler Corporation. Once Chrysler absorbed Dodge, Chrysler started producing trucks and decided to rebrand some as Fargos. The Fargo name was used for rebranded Dodge trucks in Canada from 1936-1972. These Canadian market-exclusive trucks were built in Ontario and sold at Chrysler-Plymouth Dealerships; intuitively, Dodge trucks were sold at the same Dodge dealerships as the Dodge cars. One of the big standouts of the Fargos compared to a normal Dodge truck is the half-globe logo on each fender. Fargo trucks tend to fetch higher prices than their Dodge counterparts because of scarcity.
Fargo B SERIES
The Fargo B Series trucks were half-ton Pick Up truck s produced from 1948-1953. These trucks were nearly Identical to their Dodge B Series counterparts. The only noticeable changes between the Fargo and the Dodge are the badging and the front grille. The B series features a highly visibilty cab and an engine that was placed strategically for better weight distribution. The B Series was available with three different wheelbases. The photographed truck is the Fargo we currently have on auction, linked here.
