The eighth generation of Corvette was released for the 2020 model year to great reception as it is the first to house the engine mid-ship, a significant technical step forward for the esteemed GM halo car.  This example is finished in Torch Red with stock GM Dark Carbon Flash trim complemented by the colour-matched Maxton Performance body kit.  This C8 is equipped with a power-retractable hardtop with remote activation (remote for “down” only), LED headlights, power-folding carbon-fibre side mirrors, front and rear cameras, rear Park Assist backup sensors, and quad exhaust outlets.  Modifications include the aforementioned exhaust with carbon-fibre tips, Vossen HF-7 wheels and colour-matched Maxton four-piece body kit plus Paragon Performance lowering springs, Paragon Performance lift pucks as well as ACS Composites carbon flash winglets to complement the factory Z51 package spoiler.  In addition, an uninstalled high-wing rear spoiler is included, new in the box. The modifications are presented in a narrated video in this listing and with pricing on an itemized list lower down.

The Vossen HF-7 staggered wheels are 20” up front, with 21s in the rear.  The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires have travelled approximately 1,000 km in under a year mounted on these wheels.  They measure 245/30 fore and 325/25 aft.  The seller chose these sizes after research and establishing that these sizes are best for a flush look with the rest of the side of the car, eliminating the recessed stock look (see his photos to illustrate, #110-112 in the gallery).  The car is equipped with a front suspension lift system as well as Magnetic Selective Ride Control.  When working with the car’s GPS system, the lift system can “learn” frequently visited destinations and when to engage, an owner’s high driveway curb, for example, would have the car’s front elevate automatically when getting close to home.  The Z51 Performance Package features a revised performance suspension.  In terms of brakes, there are red Z51-branded Brembo brake calipers over ventilated rotors at all four corners.  We will note here the installed lowering springs and lift pucks by Paragon Performance.

The cockpit features heated and ventilated power adjustable GT2 bucket seats upholstered in Black and Grey – material is Perforated Sueded Microfibre.  Factory protective plastic remains in place on the door sill insignia.  Other appointments in the interior include Adrenaline red trim to yield a finish consistent with the exterior.  Amenities include a head-up display, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, an 8″ touchscreen infotainment system with navigation.  Carbon-fibre interior trim is employed throughout while a keyless entry system, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control and cruise control are also among the interior offerings.  The trim and seat combination was overridden on this special order interior.

The heated leather-trimmed carbon-fiber steering wheel is wrapped in suede microfibre and features paddle shifters, fronting a 12″ configurable digital instrument cluster including a central tachometer and readouts for speed, oil pressure, engine temperature, and additional data.  Keen Corvette observers will note the grey Stingray logo.  The various configurations are illustrated in the gallery and a video of the central screen while displaying the backup camera function also appears in the listing.  The digital odometer reading is below 6,000 km, all of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 6.2-litre LT2 V8 was factory rated at 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with the Z51 performance exhaust system.  The licensed technician owner estimates that the Paragon Performance exhaust adds approximately 20 horsepower to this figure though he has not carried out a Dyno test to support this.  The Z51 package also includes a heavy-duty cooling system.  All maintenance has been dealer-performed, the most recent being an engine oil service.

The automatic transaxle is a Tremec eight-speed dual clutch unit which sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, electronically controlled.  Paragon Performance lift pucks are part of the modifications package on this C8.

A photo of the window sticker appears in the gallery.  This Stingray was originally delivered by Paul Sadlon Chevrolet in Barrie, Ontario at an MSRP of $117,803, though dealer markups were quite common for early C8s, very hot items scarce in supply when released.  This MSRP includes various factory options and upgrades to the tune of $21,805, lending credence to the position that this is about the most well-optioned and well-modified C8 in the province, supported by various awards won by the car when it has been shown.  The window sticker provides a detailed description of factory equipment, to be considered with the itemized modifications list below as well as warranty details, the balance of which are transferable to the new owner.  Powertrain and roadside assistance are 5 years/100,000 km while Sheet-Metal Perforation Warranty is 6 years/160,000 km.  An open recall is noted on the clean Carfax, this can be addressed at no charge at any Corvette dealer.

This Modified 6K km 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 3LT Z51 is available from the seller in Oakville, Ontario and includes the original window sticker, remaining factory warranties (transferable to new owner), valid Ontario Safety Standards Certificate, two keys, manufacturer literature, service records and photographed accessories.
